What Is Juvelook Volume (Lenisna)?
Juvelook Volume (Renisna) is an injectable formulation that combines non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid with “poly-DL-lactic acid (PDLLA)” , and is classified as a “skin booster.”
Known in Japanese as poly-lactic acid, it is extracted from starches such as corn, potato, and sugarcane as raw materials and produced through a scientific process.
- A polymer created by polymerizing lactic acid
- A substance with excellent compatibility with the body, whose safety for the human body is approved by the U.S. FDA
- Gradually broken down into water and carbon dioxide over about one to two years
- Also used as surgical sutures, as grafting material in orthopedic surgery, and as vascular grafting material, among other uses
After injection, it is slowly absorbed by the body over one to two years, during which it stimulates fibroblasts to naturally increase collagen and elastin, so a lasting effect can be expected.
Because it is made from lactic acid, a substance that also occurs naturally in the human body, it is unlikely to trigger allergies and offers a high level of safety.
"Lenisna" is written as "Lenisna" in Romanized form.
This is a coined word combining "Lenis" (Latin for "smooth, soft") and "na" (Korean for "I").
"The me who became special with soft skin"
The name was chosen to convey the idea that it gives me smooth, soft, and supple skin.
Juvelook is used to create natural facial contours or add volume by injecting it. When injected into areas of the face lacking volume (such as nasolabial folds, cheeks, temples, and forehead), the solution stimulates the production of the body’s own collagen, and over time, it creates natural, plump volume and roundness.
Areas and Concerns Where Juvelook Volume (Lenisna) Is Effective
Juvelook Volume (Lenisna) is effective for a variety of facial areas. Areas and concerns for which it may be particularly effective include the following:
- Nasolabial folds
- Marionette lines (lines from the corners of the mouth to the chin)
- Tear-trough (Golgo) lines (lines from the outer corners of the eyes to the cheeks)
- Loss of cheek volume
- Hollows in the temples
- Wrinkles and hollows on the forehead
These areas are prone to volume loss and wrinkle formation due to aging and repeated facial expressions. When Juvelook Volume is injected into these areas, it simultaneously provides natural volume enhancement and improves skin texture.
Effect on Nasolabial Folds and Mechanism of Action
Nasolabial folds are one of the facial concerns that many people worry about. We’ll explain in detail the effects of Juvelook Volume (Renisna) on nasolabial folds and its mechanism of action.
Effect on nasolabial folds
- Adding volume: Adds volume to the subcutaneous tissue around the nasolabial folds, making the hollows less noticeable.
- Improvement of skin quality: Improves the skin's firmness and elasticity by promoting collagen production.
- Wrinkle reduction: By supporting the skin from within, it makes the wrinkles of the nasolabial folds less noticeable.
- Natural finish: Because collagen increases gradually, you can expect a natural improvement rather than an abrupt change.
Mechanism of action
- Immediate volume effect: Immediately after injection, a temporary increase in volume can be seen thanks to the non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid.
- Sustained collagen production:
- As poly-DL-lactic acid (PDLLA) is gradually broken down within the body, it stimulates the surrounding fibroblasts.
- The stimulated fibroblasts increase their production of collagen and elastin.
- Tissue remodeling:
- The newly generated collagen and elastin support the skin's structure from within.
- This gradually strengthens the tissue around the nasolabial folds, making the hollows less noticeable.
- Long-term effects:
- Collagen production advances gradually over one to two years after injection.
- During this time, continuous improvement of skin quality and increased volume can be expected.
Juvelook Volume (Renisna) is a treatment that simultaneously provides immediate volume enhancement for nasolabial folds and long-term skin texture improvement. Unlike conventional hyaluronic acid fillers, this treatment uses the body’s own tissue to create volume, resulting in more natural and long-lasting results.

The Difference Between Juvelook Volume (Lenisna) and Juvelook
Because the particle size and concentration differ, the purpose and treatment areas differ as well.
Because Juvelook has smaller particles and a lower concentration than Lenisna, it is better suited to improving the shallow layers of the skin, and is used to restore skin firmness and elasticity and to improve fine lines and scarring.
Because Lenisna has large particles and a high concentration, it can add volume from the deep subcutaneous layer. It is used on the temples, hollows below the cheeks, nasolabial folds, and similar areas.
Juvelook Volume (Lenisna)
Deep wrinkles (nasolabial folds, marionette lines, tear-trough/Golgo lines, etc.), and indentations of the forehead and temples
Juvelook
Fine lines (under the eyes, neck, forehead, etc.), sagging skin, open pores, acne scars and other scars, etc.

The Difference Between Juvelook Volume and Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
In Europe and South Korea, there is already growing demand for skin rejuvenation and volume enhancement through the body’s own collagen production using PDLLA formulations such as Renisna, rather than filler treatments that use hyaluronic acid to add volume. In South Korea, more and more people are switching from hyaluronic acid fillers to Juvelook Volume.

Injection site / Injection volume (cc)

- For all areas except the forehead, the cc figures represent the combined total for the left and right sides.
- The above are only guideline amounts for each area. Because there are individual differences, a physician experienced in injections will propose the optimal volume for you after counseling.
Which layer is it injected into?

Injectable formulations vary in both their ingredients and intended purposes.
Therefore, it is extremely important to administer each formulation at the appropriate “depth” and “volume” to ensure optimal results.
With Juvelook Volume, the main injection layer is "from the deep dermis to the subcutaneous fat layer."
The skin is structured in layers, starting from the surface: the "epidermis," the "dermis" (comprising the superficial, middle, and deep layers), the "subcutaneous fat layer," and the "muscle layer," each of which plays a distinct role. The area extending from the deep dermis to the subcutaneous fat layer serves as the structural foundation and provides volume deep within the skin.
The area where Juvelook Volume's ingredients and intended effects are most effective is the deep dermis and subcutaneous fat layer; this is the medical rationale behind our clinic's practice of injecting this product into this specific area.

FAQ
- When will I see results?
Dr. IshiiMany people feel the effect after two to three weeks.
You can see an effect even with a single session, but it is easier to notice a significant change after receiving a set of three sessions.
We also recommend the following as an effective approach.
- A set of three sessions at two-month intervals, followed by maintenance every six months to one year
*With Juvelook Volume, collagen is produced continuously, so the effect lasts for a long time.- Is it safe?
Dr. IshiiJuvelook Volume (Lenisna) is approved by the U.S. FDA and Korea's KFDA and can be considered highly safe.
- How is it different from hyaluronic acid treatment?
Dr. IshiiHyaluronic acid treatment injects cross-linked hyaluronic acid, a firmer form of hyaluronic acid, which physically adds volume to improve wrinkles and similar concerns. Juvelook, on the other hand, achieves a natural increase in volume by boosting the collagen your own body produces.
- What are the advantages of using Juvelook Volume (Lenisna) for nasolabial folds?
-
Juvelook Volume (Lenisna) combines an immediate volumizing effect with a long-term effect that promotes collagen production. As a result, you can expect improvement of the nasolabial folds together with an improvement in skin quality, for a more natural and lasting result.
