For those who have these problems

Photofacial is recommended for

スクロールできます
lack of luster
lack of luster
Skin with low metabolism due to lymphatic stagnation, cold, or other factors, or skin that is not well textured, will appear dull and unevenly colored due to lack of even tone.
The IPL (light) of Photofacial M22 leads to clear, even-colored, dull, and bright skin.
spot (on one's skin, e.g. chloasma, liver spot)
Age spots (senile pigmentation)
Senile pigment spots are light to dark brown spots on the face, backs of the hands, arms, etc., caused by ultraviolet rays. This is the most common type of pigmentation. Photofacial M22 works on the excess melanin pigment produced, thus reducing the appearance of pigmented spots.
freckles
freckles
Freckles are round, speckled, brownish spots of a few millimeters or less that appear mainly under the eyes, on the cheeks and around the nose. The treatment effect can be achieved with the IPL (light) of a photofacial.
burr (e.g. on a machined edge)
firmness and wrinkles
When the light (IPL) from Photofacial M22 reaches the dermal layer, it activates fibroblasts and promotes the production of collagen and other cells, leading to elastic, firm skin with less fine lines and shallow wrinkles.
red faced
red faced
A red face is a condition in which blood vessels dilate and the skin surface becomes reddish. The IPL (light) from Photofacial M22 reacts with the red pigment in hemoglobin and constricts the widened excess capillaries that are visible on the skin's surface, thereby reducing the appearance of redness and redness on the skin's surface.

How Photofacial Works

Photofacial is a machine that delivers a special light called IPL (Intense Pulsed Light).

Since this IPL is "light," it is sometimes called "light therapy.

This treatment is also medically referred to as non-invasive rejuvenation therapy.

Light acts on three major areas to produce the effect you are looking for.

(1) Act on melanin pigment
By destroying melanin pigment, which is the cause of blemishes, the spots are faded.
Melanin pigment builds up under the skin in a mille-feuille-like fashion. Photofacial does not eliminate all melanin pigments at once, but rather gradually removes them.

(2) Act on small blood vessels
It works on redness and rosacea by acting on the tiny blood vessels under the skin. (Redness and rosacea are caused by these tiny blood vessels. Medically, we call it telangiectasia.)

(iii) Action on the dermis (deep under the skin)
There is a deep place under the skin called the dermis. This is where collagen and elastin reside (you have heard of them, right?). The effect on collagen and elastin is expected to stimulate the production of more collagen and elastin, resulting in firmness and elasticity.

Did you get some idea of what it was like?

Let me rearrange the explanation from a slightly different angle.

First, the light emitted from the photofacial is absorbed by melanin and oxidized hemoglobin deep in the skin. When this light is absorbed, heat is generated. This heat destroys melanin and oxidized hemoglobin. In addition, the heat acts on the surrounding tissue, specifically collagen, causing minor damage.

In tissues such as collagen, the "wound healing mechanism" works to produce new collagen. This is what brings about "skin elasticity. (③)

It also destroys melanin, resulting in the improvement of spots. (1)

The destruction of oxidized hemoglobin damages capillaries and may also improve facial redness. (2)

Frequently Asked Questions

How much pain will I feel during the procedure?
Dr. Smaski.

Pain is generally not a strong part of the treatment. However, some people may feel pain "like being popped with a rubber band.
Photofacial is a painless treatment to begin with, but the "Stella M22" introduced at our clinic is the latest model, which is even less painful than previous models. Therefore, we believe that even those who are not comfortable with pain can undergo the procedure with peace of mind.
We will not force you to continue the treatment while you are in a lot of pain.

How many times would it be effective to continue?
Dr. Smaski.

It is recommended that this be done about 5 times with an interval of 3~4 weeks.

Although the effect varies from person to person, it is easier to realize the effect of photofacial by performing the treatment multiple times. It is recommended that it be performed at least three times.

Is there any downtime?
Dr. Smaski.

Photofacial has almost no downtime. Makeup can be applied immediately after the treatment.
In rare cases, redness and mild heat may occur after irradiation, but it usually settles down within a few hours.

The area that reacts to melanin pigment may become a thin scab, but rest assured that it will naturally peel off and be reborn as new skin in about one week.

Does one treatment work?
Dr. Smaski.

Yes, there is.

As explained in the Mechanism section, it definitely works inside the skin, which is invisible to the eye.

On the other hand, in terms of visible results, we recommend about five treatments.

What is the difference between "M22" and "Stella M22"?
Dr. Smaski.

A new 515nm filter has been approved, which allows us to approach thin surface spots that could not be removed in the past. In addition, because of the larger light guide, the time required for one treatment has been reduced by about 5 minutes.

Can I have a photofacial if I have melasma?
Dr. Smaski.

It is not necessarily unacceptable.
However, we believe that there are other treatments that should be prioritized in the case of melasma and that it would be better for our clients to implement those treatments. Specifically, we recommend that you first undergo medical treatment.

Can I receive this service at an esthetic salon?
Dr. Smaski.

Photofacial is a medical procedure called non-invasive rejuvenation treatment. Therefore, esthetic salons are not allowed to introduce photofacial equipment.
There are cases in which esthetic salons claim similar equipment such as "photo 00," but the equipment that esthetic salons can install is completely different from photo facials, which are medical equipment. Therefore, they do not have the same effects.
