Collagen levels decreased sharply at week 12. Histological evaluation showed retention of yarns surrounded by fibrous capsule-like structures at week 12.

More collagen production could be observed with multiple PDO threads compared to single threads, indicating that increasing the number of threads leads to more collagen synthesis.
