What is Profhilo?
Profilor is a dermal filler developed by the Italian company IBSA.Two Types of Hyaluronic Acid: High-Molecular-Weight and Low-Molecular-WeightIt contains a high concentration of this ingredient, formulated using patented technology.
Typical hyaluronic acid products are formulated so that the hyaluronic acid molecules are bound together (cross-linked) to maintain their shape. Since Profhilo is not cross-linked, it spreads widely throughout the skin once injected.
High-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid moisturizes the skin’s surface, while low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid penetrates deep into the skin. It reaches from the epidermis to the subcutaneous tissue, where it stimulates fibroblasts that produce collagen and elastin. This formulation has won numerous awards in the field of aesthetic medicine.
The injection sites are determined using a method called the BAP method. A total of 0.2 cc is injected into each of 10 sites on the face and 10 sites on the neck, using one syringe (2 cc) per session.
Because it spreads over an area of approximately 2 cm square from the injection site, it covers a wide area even with just a few injection points. Another feature is that, since the injection sites and amounts are predetermined, the final results are less likely to be influenced by the physician’s judgment.

Side Effects and Risks
Major Side Effects and Risks: Redness, swelling, pain, edema, temporary swelling, and bruising at the needle insertion site. These symptoms usually subside within a few days. Results vary from person to person, and repeated treatments are necessary to maintain the effects.
Those who are not eligible for the treatment
- Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Those with abnormal immune function or a history of it, and those undergoing immunosuppressive therapy
- Those prone to keloid formation, hypertrophic scars, or pigmentation disorders
- People with a tendency to bleed, or those taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin or anticoagulants such as warfarin
- Those with excessive sunburn, eczema, dermatitis, severe inflammatory acne, or scabs at the injection site
Things to Keep in Mind After Your Treatment
The injection site may swell, but please avoid touching or applying excessive pressure to it. On the day of the procedure, please refrain from strenuous exercise, prolonged baths or sauna sessions, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, and excessive alcohol consumption.

Is there any effect even after just one session?
Some people notice a change in their skin texture after the first treatment, but the results are usually most noticeable after about four weeks. Results may vary from person to person.
After the second session, how often do you plan to have the treatment?
We recommend waiting at least six weeks after the first session before receiving the second one. For the third session and beyond, we recommend following the same schedule annually or undergoing maintenance sessions every six months.
Can it also appear under the eyes?
While the BAP method is the standard approach for injections, our clinic also offers customized injection treatments. Since the solution spreads widely after injection, this treatment can be effective for addressing concerns around the eyes as well.
Is there any pain?
You may feel a slight prick when the needle is inserted, but since this is a relatively painless procedure, we do not use anesthesia.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
In general, it is possible. If you are considering other procedures, please discuss this with your doctor during your consultation.
