Wrinkle Treatment: Doctors Diagnose the Cause | [Official] Smart Skin Clinic Group, Tokyo and Yokohama

Wrinkles | Forehead, Outer Corners of the Eyes, Around the Mouth, Neck
That wrinkle is,
Did it work because of the movement,
Was it carved?
There are two types of wrinkles: those caused by facial expressions and those formed as the skin itself thins. Although they may look similar, they are fundamentally different, and choosing the wrong treatment will not produce the desired results. The first step is to determine which type is contributing to the problem and to what extent.

Types of Wrinkles
Wrinkles are,
I'll break this down into three parts.
The treatment you choose will depend on which category applies to you.
This condition occurs when the stratum corneum lacks moisture, causing fine lines to appear on the skin's surface. These lines tend to appear around the eyes and mouth, and a key characteristic is that they become temporarily less noticeable with moisturizing. The solution is to improve the skin's ability to retain moisture.
This condition is characterized by a decrease in collagen and elastin in the dermis, causing the skin to become thin and stiff, with permanent furrows. These lines remain visible even when the face is expressionless. This is the type of condition we primarily treat with injections at our clinic, and our approach works to improve the overall quality of the skin.
These lines appear when you smile or raise your eyebrows and become less noticeable when your face returns to a neutral expression. They are commonly seen as horizontal lines on the forehead and between the eyebrows. Since this type requires a different approach than the previous two, we will explain the most suitable method during your consultation.
Differences by Body Part
Depending on the body part,
The types of wrinkles that form easily are different.
This is because, even though they are all “wrinkles,” the thickness of the skin and the amount of movement vary from one area to another.
Forehead and Between the Eyebrows
This area is characterized by significant facial movements and is prone to wrinkles caused by movement. However, as time passes, furrows may remain even when the muscles are at rest. At this stage, treatments that not only address movement but also improve skin quality become important. We will determine which factor is more significant during your consultation.
Outer corners of the eyes and the area around the eyes
The skin around the eyes is particularly thin and is affected by both dryness and facial movements. Fine lines that appear clustered together—known as “crepe lines”—are often caused by a loss of moisture retention and firmness; these are addressed using formulations specifically designed for the eye area to help restore skin thickness.
Around the mouth
This is an area where fine vertical lines tend to appear. This is often caused by a combination of dry skin and a loss of volume beneath the skin, so we address the issue by both replenishing moisture and stimulating collagen production.
Neck
This area is prone to the formation of horizontal lines and tends to show signs of aging. Compared to the face, it has fewer sebaceous glands and is more prone to dryness, and it undergoes repeated bending due to daily movements. Since movement plays a minor role in the formation of wrinkles on the neck, treatment focuses primarily on injections designed to improve skin quality.
That is exactly why our clinic offersWe determine the affected area and type of condition before selecting a treatment.Even for the same type of wrinkle, the necessary treatment varies from person to person.
Treatment Options
For those deep-set wrinkles,
Three Approaches.
Which one you need depends on the area and the condition of your skin.
Jubeluck, Renisna, GOURI, and others. These products act on the dermis to stimulate collagen production, restoring the skin’s natural thickness and elasticity. They are the primary treatment options for deep wrinkles.
Prophilo, Jalpro, etc. These treatments enhance the skin’s ability to retain moisture and address both fine lines caused by dryness and a loss of firmness. This method is commonly used to treat neck wrinkles.
We use formulations designed for thin skin, such as SuneKo Spa Forma Plural. These are gentle on the skin and effective for treating fine lines around the eyes and mouth.
From the Doctor
The etched wrinkles are,
We'll start by improving your skin's texture.
"Even when I moisturize, the wrinkles around my eyes and on my neck don't go away"—this is the comment we hear most often when people consult us about wrinkles.
Surface-level care can only address fine lines caused by dryness. Wrinkles that have become deep furrows are the result of a decrease in collagen in the dermis and thinning of the skin, so they will not disappear unless the skin’s underlying quality is improved.
At our clinic, we first determine whether the lines are visible when your face is expressionless or only appear when you move your facial muscles. Based on that, we’ll explain the extent to which each factor is contributing and present several possible treatment options. If facial movement is the primary cause, we’ll explain this during your consultation and discuss the most appropriate treatment method.
Skin thickness varies depending on the area, so the appropriate treatments differ as well. That is why we recommend only the treatments you truly need. We do not have counselors; a doctor will listen to your concerns from the very beginning.
