What is Jalupro|A skin-conditioning injectable formulation of hyaluronic acid and amino acids

Jalupro is an injectable formulation composed of non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid and amino acids. It is designed to help restore natural firmness and elasticity to the skin, and for this reason it is referred to as a "skin-conditioning" formulation.

Jalupro comes in three series—Classic, HMW, and Super Hydro—each designed to address different skin concerns and needs.

If you would like an overview of the three Jalupro series and how they differ, please see this page.

The "Classic" formulation introduced in this article is the most fundamental in the Jalupro series and is considered well suited to everyday beauty maintenance.

What is Jalupro Classic|For improving fine lines and dark circles around the eyes and hydrating the skin overall

Effects of Jalupro Classic

The effects of Jalupro Classic combine the "skin-conditioning" benefits common to the whole series with the effects of Classic's distinctive "low-molecular-weight non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid."

[What is the "skin-conditioning" effect shared across the Jalupro series?]

It is the synergy between the ECM remodeling effect of non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid and the skin repair and regeneration effect of the amino acids blended with it.

First, the ECM remodeling effect refers to how non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, penetrating into the dermal layer, activates fibroblasts—helping to repair damaged tissue and generate new cells. Put simply, non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid promotes the production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid in the dermal layer, helping the skin regain elasticity and firmness for a healthier appearance.

Next, the skin repair and regeneration effect of the amino acids refers to the action of the four amino acids in the formulation (glycine, L-proline, L-leucine, and L-lysine).

These amino acids are essential to the generation and regeneration of cells and to repairing damaged skin, and glycine in particular is an important amino acid from the standpoint of collagen production.

In other words, Jalupro activates fibroblasts through non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid while at the same time delivering into the skin the amino acids essential for cell generation and repair, so a synergistic skin-rejuvenation effect can be expected.

[Effects of "low-molecular-weight non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid"]

First, the difference between the three Jalupro series lies in the molecular weight of the non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid that is the main ingredient of each.

Because the main ingredient of Classic is low-molecular-weight non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, its distinctive effects can be understood as those brought about by low-molecular-weight non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid.

To begin with, non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid—like the hyaluronic acid naturally present in the body—is not bound to other hyaluronic acid molecules, which makes it easy to spread. In addition, its small molecular weight allows it to diffuse widely and deeply in multiple directions through the gaps between cells. This means the benefits of hyaluronic acid can be delivered to every corner of the skin, hydrating it overall.

Features of Jalupro Classic

The features of Jalupro Classic can also be described as the effects of the low-molecular-weight non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid explained above.

  • With its smooth, fluid texture, it diffuses and penetrates over a wide area, so it can help improve overall skin quality rather than just specific areas (it is not suited to deep wrinkles or hollows).
  • Highly hydrating, it may help improve fine lines and rough skin caused by dryness.
  • Its small molecular weight means it is broken down and absorbed quickly.

Jalupro Classic is the most fundamental formulation in the Jalupro series, designed to rejuvenate and hydrate the skin.

Because it delivers moisture and nourishment to the skin and supports its natural resilience, it is often chosen as an entry-level treatment in anti-aging care.

Jalupro Classic is recommended for those who

  • Want to address dark circles under the eyes (bluish and dark-toned circles)
  • Are bothered by crepey wrinkles or fine lines at the outer corners of the eyes
  • Have dry skin
  • I want firmness and radiance

If you have concerns like these,

don't want others to notice that you've "had something done," preferring a treatment with natural-looking change
want the downtime to be over within three days

then this treatment can be recommended for you

Timing of when the effects appear

From around a few days after treatment, you may begin to notice improvements in skin texture—such as skin that "feels smoother and softer" or "just feels somehow better."

The effect tends to peak several weeks after treatment, when you may notice changes such as "more firmness and radiance" and "fine lines becoming less noticeable."

Effects can be felt even from a single treatment, but to maintain the results, regular treatments are necessary.

Duration of effect

The effects of Jalupro Classic are said to last around 6 to 9 months.

However, the duration of the effect depends on your skin's response, the amount injected, and your lifestyle and everyday skincare, so it varies from person to person.

A frequently compared treatment|Sunekos 200

Sunekos comes in two types, Sunekos 200 and Sunekos 1200, and Sunekos 200 is often compared with Jalupro Classic.

In conclusion, it is best to understand these two as similar preparations.

Sunekos 200 is a preparation combining low-molecular-weight non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid and six amino acids (glycine, L-proline, L-lysine, L-alanine, L-valine, and L-leucine) in a patented ratio.

Both formulations have similar ingredients and share many of the same claimed benefits, such as "improved firmness and elasticity and the reduction of fine wrinkles."

There is no clear data showing that one is superior to the other. Since effects vary from person to person, choose whichever suits you best.

Downtime and risks of Jalupro Classic

Downtime

Downtime symptoms

  • Pain or tenderness at the injection site
  • Redness, swelling, and itching at the injection site
  • Bruising

Internal bleeding refers to what is commonly called a "bruise." In medical terms, blood vessels within the skin rupture, blood leaks out, and it then clots within the skin. Whether bruising occurs depends on the doctor's skill and the physical characteristics of the person receiving treatment, so it may be expected to occur in a small percentage of cases. (Ensuring zero bruising in 100% of cases is difficult to control through technique alone.)

Downtime symptoms mostly disappear within a day or two (basically within 48 hours)
If bruising occurs, it gradually fades over one to two weeks.

"I wonder if this treatment will get in the way of my work..."
"I wonder how many days I'll need to conceal it after this treatment..."
"I wonder how much it will affect my daily life..."

Do you have concerns or questions like these about downtime?
Our aesthetic dermatology team will explain these points so that your questions are answered without your having to ask the doctor directly at the clinic.

To get straight to the point, the small bumps that appear after injection often settle within about 3 hours of the procedure and are said to disappear within 48 hours at the most.

Depending on the area, bruising may occur and needle marks may be noticeable, but in most cases they can be adequately concealed with concealer or the like.

You cannot wear makeup right after the treatment, so if it really bothers you, you may need to cover it with a mask or hat, but makeup can be worn from the next day.

Areas prone to bruising are around the eyes and the temples, and the area where needle marks tend to be most visible is the cheeks. However, since the treatment is performed with an ultra-fine needle to begin with, even if bruising occurs, it does not spread darkly over a wide area.

In most cases it can be concealed with makeup, but if you are concerned, it may put your mind at ease to schedule things so that you don't have plans the day after the treatment.

Risks

Non-cross-linked hyaluronic acids such as Jalupro are generally considered safe.

The reasons are:

  • No cross-linking agents are used... avoiding allergic reactions, immune reactions, and inflammation caused by cross-linking agents
  • Properties similar to the hyaluronic acid naturally present in the body... low risk of thromboembolism

Furthermore, the three Jalupro preparations are certified as Class 3 medical devices under the CE Mark, which also indicates a high level of safety. They have been marketed and used in many countries. (The CE Mark is an indicator for evaluating the safety of medical devices in the EU, and Class 3 indicates the highest level.)

Disadvantages of Jalupro Classic

Jalupro has no major disadvantages worth noting. The minor disadvantages are as follows.

  • The effects are not permanent, so repeated treatments are needed to maintain results.
  • It is not fast-acting before the effect can be felt (to put it another way, the result comes on slowly and looks natural).
  • Results vary from person to person
  • Temporary redness or swelling may occur after injection. These usually resolve within a few days but can affect your appearance immediately after the procedure.
