What is Profhilo?

The official product name is "Profhilo®." On the market since 2015, it is a hyaluronic acid product created using the NAHYCO™ technology developed by Italy's IBSA.

Profhilo isthe BAP technique (bio-aesthetic point technique)injected using this designated method.
Standardizing the injection sites is said to help achieve consistent results.
10 points each on the face or neck.
These 10 points are centered on the lower third of the face, where skin atrophy from aging tends to appear, and are locations that anatomically contain no major blood vessels or nerves.
A small, shallow amount of 0.2cc is injected per point. One vial (2cc) is used per treatment.

FAQ
- How often and how many times should I receive it?
Dr. IshiiYou can expect results even after a single session, but for the most effective approach we recommend one of the following:
① Have the first and second sessions one month apart, then continue the same pattern once a year thereafter.
② Have the first and second sessions one month apart, then continue every six months thereafter.- Does it hurt?
Dr. IshiiIt varies from person to person. We use a fine needle, but you may feel a slight pricking sensation. The center of the face is also said to be more sensitive to pain.
- How long is the downtime?
Dr. IshiiRedness subsides in about 24 hours.
Who cannot receive this treatment
Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding
Those with abnormal immune function or a history of it, and those undergoing immunosuppressive therapy
Those prone to keloid formation, hypertrophic scarring, or pigmentation disorders
Those with a bleeding tendency, or those taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin or anticoagulants such as warfarin
Those with excessive sunburn, eczema, dermatitis, severely inflamed acne, or scabs at the Profhilo injection site
Risks and Side Effects
At the needle puncture site:
Redness, swelling, pain, edema
Bruising
Temporary raised bumps
Downtime
Redness and raised bumps may occur at the injection site, but in most cases they return to normal in about 24 hours.
Due to the nature of the treatment, subcutaneous bleeding may occur at the needle puncture site, though not always. If bruising occurs, it gradually fades over 10 to 14 days.

In Japan, Profhilo is a pharmaceutical not approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. The pharmaceuticals and devices used in Profhilo treatment are personally imported at the discretion of our physicians. There is also no other domestically approved product with the same performance available for this treatment.
In addition, because Profhilo is an unapproved product in Japan, it is not covered by the Adverse Drug Reaction Relief System.
The drugs and medical devices used in this treatment are not approved within Japan; they are provided based on their track record of use and safety information in other countries. Specifically, Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid currently used in over 80 countries. With more than 500,000 cases reported worldwide, as well as an AMEC & AESTHETICS award, it is a hyaluronic acid whose safety and efficacy are recognized in many countries abroad.
